The energy label informs about the energy class, the electricity consumption in “ON” mode and the annual electricity consumption.
The energy class is based on an energy efficiency index. The class with the lowest electricity consumption (the best energy class) is A++, while the class with the highest electricity consumption (the worst energy class) is E. In practice, TVs have no lower energy class than C.
The most important parameters for determining the energy efficiency index are the screen size of the TV and the power consumption when switched on (also shown on the energy label).
XXX Watt: The power consumption when switched on, in watts / hour.
The symbols:
kWh / annum: The annual electricity consumption (XXX kWh / year) is based on the TV being switched on 4 hours a day for 365 days. Example: The electricity consumption when switched on is 61 W. The annual electricity consumption is: (61 x 4) x 365 = 91 kWh
Watt: Displays the number of watts that TVs consume per hour.
Displays whether the TV has a physical power button that completely shuts off the power.
Displays the screen size in centimeters (cm) and inches (”).
