Beosonic
Sound settings can be controlled from the Bang & Olufsen app. If you’re streaming music, you can fine-tune the sound or control the beamwidth via Beosonic. If you have connected your Beolab 28 to a Bang & Olufsen audio or TV source via Power Link or Wireless Power Link, Beosonic is not available as the audio settings are controlled by the source. You can still control the beamwidth. The presets can also be changed in the Bang & Olufsen app.
It all started 35 years ago…
In 1986, Bang & Olufsen launched the Beolab Penta – a semi-active speaker with a sculptural column-like design. At the time, loudspeakers were large, square boxes and the sound was characterised by unwanted reflections from floors and ceilings. The use of a pentagonal column, which sent focused sound in the direction of the listener, was quite radical. So was our first attempt at placing the amplifier inside the speaker cabinet. This was done to reduce the length of the cables between the amplifier and the loudspeaker and thus reduce the signal loss inherent in long cables.
Beolab 8000, 1992
With the introduction of active speakers into our product portfolio, we embraced a technology that had previously been limited to hi-fi enthusiasts – a technology that adapts speakers to the customer’s home, not the other way around. It was a milestone in our audio history and also included a cabinet without parallel sides, eliminating standing waves and vibrations, a compact format with a relatively big sound, and a stainless steel cabinet that reflects the surroundings and matches the décor.

BEOLAB 28 REPRESENTS THE CULMINATION OF 35 YEARS OF INNOVATION IN ACTIVE SPEAKER TECHNOLOGY.
The design quickly became a classic, followed by other column-shaped speakers such as Beolab 6000, Beolab 8000, Beolab 1 and Beolab 18.
We have perfected this category over time by introducing advanced breakthrough technologies such as ABL, ALT, Active Room Compensation, Beam Width Control etc.
With Beolab 28 we redefine our Beolab loudspeaker category.

FLOOR STAND OR WALL BRACKET?
The upper and lower parts are held together by a rail that also hides the cables. The rail is the only difference between the wall and floor versions. It is therefore easy and simple to change the position of the speaker from floor to wall or from wall to floor, simply by buying a new rail.
