Beoplay Eleven vs Beo Grace – what is the difference? And which should you choose?
Bang & Olufsen now has two strong options for wireless in-ear headphones at the exclusive end of the market: Beoplay Eleven and Beo Grace. Both models are made for those who want great sound, beautiful design, active noise cancellation and a comfortable fit for everyday use.
Beoplay Eleven is the more accessible premium choice. It gives you much of what most people need in a modern in-ear headphone: good battery life, strong sound, active noise cancellation, water resistance and a beautiful design in aluminium and glass.
Beo Grace is the more advanced model. Here, the technology is taken further with features such as fully adaptive ANC, TrueTransparency™, a larger titanium driver, faster charging and the option to stream directly from the case. But that does not necessarily mean Beo Grace is the right choice for everyone.
That is why we have compared the two models, so you can more easily find out which B&O earbud best suits your needs.
Both models
- are completely wireless in-ear headphones from Bang & Olufsen.
- have active noise cancellation, so you can block out more of your surroundings.
- have Transparency Mode, so you can hear what is happening around you.
- are IP57-certified, making them dustproof and waterproof.
- have 6 MEMS microphones with directional beamforming for voice.
- support multipoint, so you can be connected to two devices at the same time.
- can be customised in the Bang & Olufsen app with EQ and sound settings.
- have wireless Qi charging for the charging case.
- are made from robust and exclusive materials.
So what are the differences between the two products?
Beoplay Eleven gives you the most direct and simple premium experience. It has longer battery life per charge, aptX Adaptive, an elegant design in aluminium and glass, and a price that is significantly lower than Beo Grace.
Beo Grace, on the other hand, is more technologically advanced. It has more intelligent noise cancellation, a larger driver, Dolby Spatial Audio, faster charging, longer expected battery lifespan over time and the special option to stream directly from the case via USB-C or line-in.
In short: Beo Grace is the more advanced choice of the two, and is made for those who want the latest features and the most exclusive in-ear experience from Bang & Olufsen.
Price and positioning
The most obvious difference is the price. Beoplay Eleven costs DKK 3,749, while Beo Grace costs DKK 9,000.
Beoplay Eleven is therefore the obvious choice if you want a premium earbud from Bang & Olufsen without going all the way up into the most expensive category. You still get active noise cancellation, good sound, strong battery life, water resistance and a beautiful design.
Beo Grace is aimed more at those who want the most advanced solution. Here, you are not only paying for better specifications, but also for new features, more advanced technology and a more uncompromising material feel.
Beoplay Eleven: DKK 3,749
Beo Grace: DKK 9,000
Sound and noise cancellation
Both models deliver the well-known Bang & Olufsen sound with a balanced and detailed reproduction. Both can also be adjusted in the Bang & Olufsen app, so you can tailor the sound to your own taste.
Beoplay Eleven uses a 9.2 mm neodymium driver and delivers a powerful, clear and comfortable sound that works very well for music, podcasts, calls and everyday use. It also has active noise cancellation and Transparency Mode, making it highly versatile in daily life.
Beo Grace has a larger 12 mm titanium driver and is optimised for Dolby Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos®. This enables a more spatial and technically advanced listening experience when the content supports it. The noise cancellation is also more advanced, with fully adaptive ANC, EarSense™ and TrueTransparency™ in five levels.
The difference is therefore especially relevant if you care a lot about noise cancellation, spatial sound and the most precise listening experience. If you primarily use your earbuds for music, calls, training and commuting, Beoplay Eleven will still be more than strong enough for most people.
Battery life and charging
Here, Beoplay Eleven is actually the strongest option if we look at classic battery life per charge.
Beoplay Eleven provides up to 6 hours of playtime with ANC on a single charge and up to 20 hours in total with the charging case. Without ANC, it can play for up to 8 hours on a single charge and up to 28 hours in total.
Beo Grace provides up to 4.5 hours of playtime with ANC and up to 17 hours in total with the charging case. In return, Beo Grace has significantly faster charging, where 5 minutes of charging gives approximately 2.5 hours of playback.
In addition, Beo Grace is designed for up to 2,000 charging cycles, while Beoplay Eleven is rated for up to 500 cycles before the battery capacity falls below 80%. Beoplay Eleven therefore wins on battery life in daily use, while Beo Grace stands stronger on long-term durability and fast charging.
Beoplay Eleven: Up to 6 hours with ANC / 20 hours in total
Beo Grace: Up to 4.5 hours with ANC / 17 hours in total
Streaming from the case
One of the most special features of Beo Grace is the option to stream directly from the charging case.
This means you can connect the case via USB-C or line-in and send the sound wirelessly to your Beo Grace earbuds. This can be a practical solution on flights, with a laptop, for gaming or in other situations where Bluetooth is not the best option.
Beoplay Eleven has a more traditional charging case with USB-C and wireless Qi charging, but not the same streaming function from the case itself.
If you primarily use your earbuds with your phone, tablet and computer via Bluetooth, Beoplay Eleven is still an obvious choice. If, on the other hand, you often use your headphones in situations where direct sound from the case makes sense, Beo Grace is more flexible.
Controls and daily use
Beoplay Eleven uses touch controls on the glass surface. It is a simple and familiar way to control music, calls, volume, noise cancellation and Transparency Mode directly on the headphones.
Beo Grace introduces NearTap and force control. NearTap makes it possible to adjust the volume by tapping near the ear, while force control gives a more physical click sensation when switching functions.
Here, it is largely a matter of preference. Beoplay Eleven gives you a more classic and intuitive touch experience. Beo Grace gives you a newer and more tactile control experience, which can feel more precise once you get used to it.
Design, materials and comfort
Both models are unmistakably Bang & Olufsen in their design. They are made from exclusive materials, have an elegant expression and feel far more considered than ordinary in-ear headphones.
Beoplay Eleven combines aluminium, glass, polymer and silicone. The glass surface gives it a modern and exclusive look, while the pearl-blasted aluminium case fits well with B&O’s classic understanding of materials.
Beo Grace has a more jewellery-like expression in natural aluminium and a smaller design. It has new oval ear tips in four sizes and an aluminium charging case with a discreet light indicator behind micro-drilled holes.
Both models weigh 6 grams per earbud, so the difference is not so much about weight. It is more about expression and fit. Beoplay Eleven feels modern and elegant. Beo Grace feels more refined and discreet.
Water resistance and durability
Both Beoplay Eleven and Beo Grace have IP57-certified earbuds. This means they are protected against dust and water, so they can be used for training, commuting, rain and everyday use on the go.
Beo Grace also has an IP54-certified charging case, which provides extra protection for the case itself. Beoplay Eleven does not have the same IP rating for the case, but the earbuds themselves are still IP57-certified.
For most users, both models will be more than robust enough for everyday life.
Call quality
Both models have 6 MEMS microphones and directional beamforming for voice. This means they are both developed to provide clear calls and reduce background noise when you are talking on the phone or joining meetings.
Beoplay Eleven gives you a strong and stable call experience for everyday use. Beo Grace builds on this with AI-powered noise removal, specially designed acoustic mesh and improved wind protection.
If you often use your earbuds for professional calls, meetings or conversations in noisy surroundings, Beo Grace may be interesting. If calls are part of normal daily use, Beoplay Eleven handles the task very well.
