IN CONSTANT DEVELOPMENT
When Bang & Olufsen launched Beoplay A9 back in 2012, we all knew that this was a very exciting product that could become a bestseller. Now, 7 years later, we dare say that Beoplay A9 has become a modern design icon and a strong statement for Bang & Olufsen. It is a product that continues to impress our customers and we are therefore also proud that we can now present the fourth generation of Beoplay A9. A new and updated version with new features that makes it even more user-friendly with eg. Voice Control, Google Assistant and Active Room Compensation for a great audio and user experience. In addition, it has got a new refined detail – a nice fabric-coated power cable.
In autumn, when we launched the 3rd generation of Beoplay A9, we were able to present a number of updates in the technical platform and hardware:
- The primary update was the addition of two full-range driver units on the back of Beoplay A9, which through reflective acoustic principles, provides a wider and more captivating sound image. With the two units, the A9 3rd and 4th generation now contain seven units.
- A new and stronger streaming platform ensures faster streaming (eg using Chromecast)
- Improved wi-fi connectivity
- With Apple AirPlay 2, Apple customers can now use the new multiroom platform
- The product price is increased by 300€-450€ for a suggested retail price of 2.500€ for the standard versions and 2.750€ for the special editions
- To be consistent with the rest of the range of flexible speakers, we had the USB port and Spotify Connect feature removed (which has been replaced by the AirPlay 2 and Chromecast features).
BUT IT DOES NOT STOP HERE! In Beoplay A9 4th generation, we have even more exciting features for you:
- Built-in Google Assistant (voice control): Now you can play music, find answers with Google’s search capabilities, manage daily tasks, and easily manage your smart home devices using your voice.
- Active Room Compensation: The Active Room Compensation technology analyses your room with an internal microphone and creates a set of user defined filters that compensates for the reflections from furniture and walls. The result is perfect, a tailored sound in all the areas you prefer to listen to the ultimate sound from B&O.
- Fabric-coated power cable: The 4th generation of the Beoplay A9 offers a new and refined detail – a fine fabric-coated power cable.
- Bang & Olufsen logo on the aluminium ring: Another new and beautiful detail:
The Bang & Olufsen logo is engraved on the aluminium ring of the Beoplay A9. - New standard versions: We have changed the legs of our standard version white and black. The white version now comes with our beautiful legs in oak and the black version with black walnut legs.
